In terms of what I enjoy most, I would have to say  drawing and painting figures and portraits of people and pets.  I find watercolor to be relaxing and meditative, and I love how the water is alive with its own spirit constantly humbling me as an artist.  I hope you enjoy viewing some the artwork I have created.  Ten percent of all sales go towards a non-profit organization, "Dreams Come True", helping disabled adults live in the community.

Artist’s Statement
After much thought into why I paint I would venture to say it soothes my soul.  I can immerse myself into this wonderful creative world that God has created for us where everything is beautiful and true.  I hope I can bring joy to others as I find the beauty in this world. I was born into a family who loves and appreciates art and all the women in my family were artists.  As a child I would spend summers with my aunt Eva Pearl in Louisiana who always had an art project ongoing and every afternoon, after doing the household tasks, which included taking care of me, she dedicated time to draw, paint, or sculpture.   I used to observe her and loved being in her environment.  Many, many years later after she and I both had raised our families she invited me to attend a watercolor workshop by Mary Barton and that day changed my life.  Today I draw and paint both in watercolor and oils but it is watercolors that move me and excite me.  I absolutely love to paint and am so very fortunate to have a loving husband that supports me in my art as well as a generous boss who allows me painting time.  My current goal is to network with artists for learning, sharing, and expanding their knowledge, bettering the community and offering a place for artists to be creative in a peaceful environment.  In the future, I am hoping to offer a place for artists to meet, work together, have exhibitions, offer classes to children and reach out to the elderly.  I currently spend my time as Vice President of Coppini Academy of Fine Art and run their Wednesday night drawing session and website.

This is me with my winning plein air painting for the San Antonio Watercolor Group's annual "Battle of the Pallets". I have plastic over the painting as it was sprinkling and the rain was leaving watermarks all over the painting.  This is a full sheet and I did use masking outside and did pouring of the three primary colors.  It was a challenge but I had loads of fun painting outside with all the tourists coming by to give a helping word or two.
